Security of your source code and developer environment is of the most importance to us. Here's a brief outline of our approach.

Infrastructure

Modeinspect relies on the following sub processors, organized from the most critical to the least critical:

E2B

Modeinspect uses E2B to host your development environment for a live preview of your production code. Your code is running on a private E2B instance. E2B does not retain or process your code for any other purposes than running a dev environment.

GCP

We host our infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform in the EU region. Your code is processed in a secure, ephemeral environment with no internet access. The generated Codebase index is safely stored on an encrypted disk.

Anthropic

We use Anthropic mainly for code generation. Our usage of Anthropic endpoints falls under Anthropic's commercial terms where your data is not used for training.

OpenAI

We also use OpenAI for code generation. Our usage of OpenAI endpoints falls under OpenAI's business terms where your data is not used for training.

We offer custom deployment options for Enterprise+ customers.

Approach

Here is a brief overview of how we approach the security of your data:

  • We are fully SOC2 compliant
  • We follow the least-privilege principle when assigning access to team members.
  • The standard IAM measures like MFA, SSO and a role based access control are in place.
  • We use secure key management (KMS) to store secrets and encrypt your data where possible.
  • Access to resources is restricted to using network-level controls and secrets.
  • We provide SLA agreements and NDAs to Enterprise+ customers on request.

Code Indexing

Modeinspect doesn't rely on any 3rd party vector database or indexing providers. Instead, it uses DeepCode - an internally built code understanding engine. The only two places that your codebase is stored in, is as an encrypted parsed index made by DeepCode on our GCP storage and in E2B.
